The first flight on this route is scheduled for mid-August, CEO of the company Ke Jin said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to him, the ship should arrive at the port of Murmansk by the end of the month.
The head of the company noted that the Northern Sea Route is considered as a promising direction for the development of cargo transportation between China and Russia. He stressed that the route has proven to be reliable and safe and can become an important addition to existing logistics chains.
Previously, New New Shipping had already developed transportation through the Arctic. In 2024, the company launched the Arctic Express route No. 1, which connected the Chinese ports of Shanghai and Ningbo with Arkhangelsk via the Northern Sea Route. The authorities of the Murmansk region also reported on the interest of the Chinese carrier in using the region as a transit hub for the delivery of goods from Asia to Europe and the Middle East.
