The Chinese company Govy Technology intends to start commercial operation of the air taxi in 2027 after completion of certification and preparation of serial production.

According to Yicai, the developer is already accepting pre-orders for the Govy AirCab model, and the first mass-produced electric aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing was released in May. By the end of 2026, the company expects to complete the airworthiness check of its vehicles.

In the first half of 2027, Govy Technology plans to receive production certification, after which it will begin increasing the production and supply of air taxis. According to Su Qingpeng, the founder and CEO of the company, the flying car market expects a period of rapid growth in the next five years due to the development of technology and the expansion of production capabilities.

The project is developing against the background of the active promotion of the so-called low-altitude economy in China, which includes drones, airships and vertical take-off and landing vehicles. According to forecasts of the Civil Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China, by 2035 the volume of this market may reach 3.5 trillion yuan, and by 2027 the country plans to form a basic system of standards for the safe development of the industry.
