According to Lyudmila Veselova, associate professor at the Higher School of Economics, the Chinese consumer especially appreciates the naturalness and "history" of the origin of the product. In this context, Russian products can benefit from the image of ecologically clean regions — Siberia and the Far East.
The expert sees a separate potential in cosmetics and health products, where natural ingredients and plant extracts are in demand, as well as in the segment of products for children, where safety and quality remain key factors.
