China has imposed retaliatory sanctions against six US organizations

Санкции

Beijing imposed restrictions on six American organizations in response to US sanctions imposed under the pretext of the situation in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China announced the introduction of retaliatory measures against six US organizations. The restrictions include Applied DNA Sciences, Stratum Reservoir, Altana Technologies, Responsible Business Alliance, Verite Group, and Human Rights in China. The decision was made with the approval of the national coordination mechanism for countering foreign sanctions.

The Chinese ministry's statement emphasizes that the United States has imposed sanctions against Chinese enterprises under the pretext of so-called forced labor, which is a gross violation of international law. The aforementioned American organizations, according to Beijing, facilitated and supported illegal sanctions against Xinjiang, which had an extremely negative effect. The Chinese authorities prohibit entering into transactions with these companies and carrying out any cooperation.

Earlier, the United States expanded the sanctions list to include 43 more Chinese companies from the mining, agricultural, transportation, metallurgy and seafood processing sectors. In total, 187 Chinese organizations accused of human rights violations were placed under Washington's restrictions. Beijing has repeatedly rejected these accusations, calling them groundless. The introduction of retaliatory measures is expected to further exacerbate trade and economic tensions between the two countries, which have persisted for several years.
