On the sidelines of the international forum "Sprouts: Russia and China — mutually beneficial cooperation" in Kazan, an agreement will be signed between Lonvi Biosciences (PRC) and Kazan Federal University. According to RIA Novosti at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of the KFU, the document will lay the foundation for the joint work of Russian and Chinese doctors and biologists in the field of chronobiology and prolongation of active longevity.
As part of the cooperation, KFU specialists will study an anti-aging drug developed by Lonvi Biosciences. In 2025, the company announced the creation of the world's first drug based on procyanidin C1, obtained from grape seeds. The difference of the development is the high concentration and bioavailability of the active substance. It is assumed that the drug triggers the mechanism of natural death of senescent cells and protects healthy cells. KFU will become the first Russian university to conduct independent research on the drug's mechanisms of action.
According to Ip Zuo, CEO of Lonvi Biosciences, cooperation with KFU is aimed at expanding the evidence base and searching for new areas of application of the drug. According to him, modern medicine is increasingly shifting its focus from treating the effects of diseases to addressing the root causes of aging. The Rostki Forum is being held in Kazan from August 16 to 19; in 2025, it brought together about 10,000 participants from 40 countries and more than 30 signed agreements.
