The Chinese authorities will contribute to maintaining stability in Northeast Asia, including the Russian Far East. This was stated by Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Ding Xuexiang at the Eastern Economic Forum. He emphasized that peace and tranquility in the region are the foundation of the people’s well‑being and a common aspiration of the broad masses. According to him, Northeast China and the Russian Far East are connected by mountains and rivers, and the length of their common border exceeds 4,000 kilometres.
Ding Xuexiang noted that the China‑Russia border is not only a natural link that strengthens centuries‑old friendship but also a key pillar for the development and revival of both sides. He stressed that China consistently acts as a builder, protector, and factor in maintaining peace in the region. These statements were made in the context of strengthening bilateral cooperation and joint efforts to ensure stability in the Far East.
The participation of the Chinese delegation in the forum confirms Beijing’s course towards developing a comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia. Ding Xuexiang’s statements demonstrate China’s readiness to continue contributing to peace and development in the region, which is in the interests of both countries and helps to strengthen mutual trust and economic cooperation.
