Jiang Bin, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, stated that the trilateral “Border Cooperation‑2026” exercises marked a transition of cooperation between China, Russia, and Mongolia to a new stage — deep integration.

Military units from China, Russia, and Mongolia have launched a process of deep integration in the field of protecting joint borders. This was stated by Jiang Bin, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, commenting on the recent trilateral “Border Cooperation‑2026” exercises. According to him, these are already the second joint maneuvers of the border units of the three countries, and they indicate a shift from seeking ways to cooperate to a new stage — deep integration.

Jiang Bin noted that such cooperation helps to enhance the ability to jointly respond to emergencies, maintain peace and stability in the border areas, and also contributes to deepening the traditional friendship and practical cooperation between China, Russia, and Mongolia. The exercises took place in early September in the Manchuria region (Inner Mongolia, Northern China).

During the maneuvers, the parties practiced measures to prevent and suppress reconnaissance and sabotage activities, joint planning, search, apprehension, and transfer of suspects. Unmanned and intelligent technologies, as well as modern monitoring tools, were used. After the exercises were completed, an exchange of experience took place in horseback riding techniques, overcoming obstacles, and searching for and apprehending suspects using military dogs. The main goal is to jointly strengthen security barriers along the border.
