This is one of the largest international platforms dedicated to issues related to the development of the maritime economy, international cooperation, the implementation of advanced marine technologies, and the development of innovative approaches to managing the resources of the World Ocean.
The forum has been held since 2024 at the initiative of the People’s Government of Shandong Province, jointly with the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People’s Republic of China, and is considered one of the leading events in its field.
The theme of the 2026 forum is “Let’s Sea our Futures — Developing a Sustainable Marine Economy for a Thriving Ocean” (“Towards the Future: Developing a Sustainable Marine Economy for a Thriving Ocean”).
Representatives of the Expert Center “Arctic Development Project Office (PORA)” take part in the forum. The delegation included Maxim Dan’kin, General Director of PORA, and Ekaterina Serova, Director of the Department of International Relations.
On September 16, a working meeting will be held at Ocean University of China to discuss the prospects for using Chinese wind energy technologies in the Arctic and their pilot implementation in the Norilsk industrial zone.
On September 17, Maxim Dan’kin will speak at the “Dialogue on Marine Civilization” as part of the Global Ocean Development Forum in Qingdao.
On September 18, the PORA delegation will hold a meeting in Beijing with representatives of Beijing Language and Culture University. The parties will discuss the role of gas fields in the Russian Arctic in ensuring the energy security of BRICS countries and the prospects for expert cooperation between Russia and China.
